At the beginning of September, the Grosse Gewächse 2017 will be on sale. Jens Priewe was able to taste them a few days earlier at the “Vorpremiere” in Wiesbaden: The Moselle is an ancient Rieslingland, but not necessarily the home of dry wines. That’s why the Moselle is always foreign to the Grosse Gewächsen (GG). Measured against the large number of Großer Lage sites along the Moselle, the number of wines that come onto the market as Grosse Gewächse – i.e. as dry-tasting wines – is very manageable.
