Nothing beats lifelong training!
Really great wines need a lot of time to mature. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of a dear wine friend from Cologne, we saw this principle confirmed once again and enjoyed some perfectly matured wine icons in a small circle of friends, right back to the spectacularly elegant 1898 Château Lafite.🙏

Herbst 2024
Exzellenz kommt von Details! Diesem Grundsatz folgend ernten aktuell Tag für Tag unsere bis zu 100 fleißigen Mitarbeiter Steillage für Steilllage. Nach dem schonenden Transport in gekühlten Transportern werden sämtliche Trauben auf Van Volxem erst von Hand und anschließend fotooptisch sortiert.
Das lange Warten hat sich gelohnt und wir freuen uns über eine sehr kleine, aber feine Menge an reifen Trauben, der Grundlage köstlicher Weine.

Vielen Dank für die rege Teilnahme an unserem kleinen Gewinnspiel! „Wehlener Sonnenuhr“ war natürlich die richtige Antwort. Wir freuen uns schon riesig darauf, dort in wenigen Wochen die ersten Riesling Trauben zu ernten.
Heute durften wir aufgrund der vielen Teilnehmer gleich drei anstatt einen Gewinner auslosen. Die Namen der Gewinner lauten Thomas Web, Pinot Enderlix und Jesmel_miller. Allen drei wünschen wir Viel Vergnügen mit unserem grandiosen Großen Gewächs aus dem Ockfener Geisberg, das wir den Gewinnern zuschicken, sobald Sie uns ihre Adressen geschickt haben. Freuen Sie sich außerdem auf eine erlesene Auswahl an Weinen unserer Gastwinzer Kloster Eberbach (Rheingau), Schott (Nahe) und Château Pauqué (Luxemburg). Im Anschluss an die Weinprobe erwarten Sie auf unserer sommerlich schönen Terrasse zwei köstliche Gänge aus der Küche von Sternekoch Alexander Kunz. Den Abschluss des Menüs bildet eine Auswahl feinster französischer Rohmilchkäse von Les Frères Marchand, Maitre Fromager Affineur/Nancy. Das Menü wird begleitet von einer feinen Auswahl Van Volxem-Weinen. 59€ all in.

The personal selection of the excellent raw milk cheese at Les Frères Marchand, Maître Fromager Affineur in Nancy for our vintage presentation starting tomorrow has been one of the highlights of the year for me since 2001.
Where else can I get a 36 kg wheel of a 32-month matured comté from the legendary Fromagerie Marcel Petite or the delicious Brie de Meaux from Benjamin de Rothschild?

With great pleasure and a little pride we will be presenting the entire collection of our ten magnificent VDP.Grosse Gewächse from 6th to 8th September (12 to 7 p.m.) as part of our traditional vintage presentation at Van Volxem, for the first time in elegant black.
Thanks to perfect climatic conditions and the endless hard work of the entire Van Volxem team, we have succeeded in producing a vintage of superlatives. For me personally, this is the highlight of my career so far at this wonderful winery.
