„From Kanzem's top vineyard (and one of the greatest and warmest in the Saar Valley), the 2016 Altenberg Riesling Alte Reben has a super ripe, almost raisiny nose with very fine slate aromas. After a few hours, the nose gets finer and finer, and the flinty/stony flavors take over. Highly elegant on the silky textured palate, this is an intense, lush and powerful but finessed Riesling with enormous length and concentration and a super pure and salty finish. This is a great Altenberg that is almost accessible, although it can age for at east two decades.“
