Riesling GG – grand Cru with a dry taste profile.

Scharzhofberger presents itself elegantly as a Grand Cru wine with a delicate, precise minerality that reflects this truly great site. The wine is invigorating and, at the same time, supple – a wine that kindles desire. This typically animating acidity derived from this magical blue slate location constantly demands another sip.

Expertise

With its captivating aroma of ripe yellow fruits of apricot, quince and Mirabelle, interwoven with refreshing mint, this fine Cru blends perfectly with fish or shellfish. In 1895 Christoph Schauffler, Dean of Wiltingen wrote this description:
“In the area of Wiltingen, Scharzhofberger, the king of all wines from the Trier region, has its seat. But unfortunately because of its high price, it is only affordable to a few mortals who can refresh themselves with this fragrant blood of the vines.”
