In terms of area, the rather small viticulture of the Saar is mostly limited south-facing slate slopes in tributary valleys. This creates a unique combination of barren yet, at the same time fertile, slate soils, rich in minerals, with the warmth of the steep slopes. These aspects are so important for the aroma formation of the Riesling. The result is extraordinarily elegant and finesse-rich wines made to be enjoyed.
